The title track "Bliss Avenue” is a slow blues and her Janis Joplin-esque voice is striking. There is a strong variety of genres on this album, from the ’70s rock inspired "How Did Things Get This Way,” the Etta James type of soul ballad "So Hard to Move,” to "Nothin’ on My Mind” and "Long Long Game,” which has an unexpected country flare.
