The Dana Fuchs Band - Lonely For A Lifetime] Dana Fuchs (January 10, 1976) is an
American singer, songwriter, actress and voice over talent most famous for her role as Sadie in the 2007 film Across the Universe.
The Dana Fuchs Band is a hard hitting, bluesy NYC rock band fronted by Dana Fuchs whose powerful, impassioned vocal delivery and dynamic stage performance is matched by her band's deep, soulful groove. Lonely For A Lifetime was produced by Dana's writing partner, guitarist and band co-founder, Jon Diamond, along with veteran bassist/producer, Kenny Aeronson (Bob Dylan, Billy Idol, Mick Taylor). "After countless sold-out shows at the Mercury Lounge and support slots at the
Bowery Ballroom, Dana's live energy has now made it into the studio and onto the new CD"- John Moore (promoter, Bowery Ballroom). Supported by Jon's powerful, gritty guitar arrangements; swirling Hammond organ, and anchored by a tight rhythm section, Dana's vocals hit hard with a raw intensity that matches the tark honesty of her lyrics-- "Lonely For A Lifetime" presents music with strong roots, but a sound and vision both original and deeply personal...
"Imagine a sultry, more emotive Janis Joplin backed by a higher-energy version of the late-'60s Rolling Stones...Rock'n'roll doesn't get any better." -Stereophile Magazine
"
.... This was my long awaited chance to see Dana Fuchs. It was well worth the wait. Dana has a Joplinesque quality to her voice and a songwriting style reminiscent of Van Morrison. Her band included that 'Master of the Telecaster", Jon Diamond who is undoubtedly one of my favorite New York City guitarists."-Good Times Magazine
"Dana Fuchs and her band turn out rocking, blues-infused originals that come to life in Dana's burnished vocals."
-The New Yorker
